I WILL PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU

John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”

John  14:2 “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

John 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

I was just thinking about those wonderful verses. When I read an article or a book, especially a good author like C.S. Lewis, I read the title and then I write a “mini” article myself about it. Then I read the author’s article or book and compare the two. It is a kind of game I play. Everybody has a bit of child in themselves and we all like to play.

In these verses, the Lord is saying that we should not be troubled. People are often troubled even though they do not have to be. Jesus did not come on this earth to scare us. Why should He? He came to help us. There may be people who are perhaps troubled by not being saved. Also, people made be afraid of others. But we should not fear others either. Fear is our enemy. The Devil tries to control and manipulate us with fear. Religion does the same thing. But we are not religious, we are believers.

These particular texts in the Bible are very interesting to me.  There are many people who are “Heaven-orientated,” meaning they are focused on the fact that we are going to Heaven. I am not. I believe there is a Heaven and that the Lord promised us that we will one day go to Heaven, but He did not create us to live in Heaven permanently. He created us to live on the earth.  If He created us for Heaven then by now we would be some type of angel or something. But I am blessed since I am more than an angel, even if I do not possess some of the qualities that angels do.

The Bible said that we are less than angels. The correct translation is we are less than “Elohim,” which is a Hebrew term for God.  (Psalm 8:5).

There are two kinds of angels. There God’s servants and there are angels who are our servants. We are not servants only (unless we make ourselves to be), but we are the children of God.  We lost our son ship when Adam sinned in the Garden and became adopted by the Devil’s “family.” Now when we come back to God, He adopted us again. Sons and daughters must be born into a family, not join a family like someone joins a club.

Another important element of the verses is that the Lord emphasized, in the first part, belief. The world is not condemning someone because they are not good or do not do good works, but because of their unbelief. It is all about faith.

To avoid faith a person has to replace it with works. But works are the fruit of who we really are. Just because we eat an apple does not make them an apple tree.

“In my Father's house are many mansions.” This is good news. It must be beyond imagination. Seeing Heaven must be an eye-opening experience.

I believe we will go to Heaven. I like to call it a heavenly vacation. All will be paid. Good enough? No one usually only a 7-year vacation. It will be wonderful to be on vacation in the heaven. Can you imagine it?

The Bible informs us that He (Jesus) will return back with the saints. It must be us—He calls His people saints, those who He has delivered.

When He will come back to Heaven he will sit on the throne of David. There will be a lot vacancies and mentions on earth too. Then we will live here with Him forever. Of course this current earth will be renewed and recycled. We will have a new earth and a new heaven. And we will be with Him forever.
